Active Citizenship

Democracy through Citizenship

The York Project concluded active work in citizenship in January 2005. Democracy through Citizenship was commissioned and funded for three years by The Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust Ltd.

The project is working in partnership with young people, schools, colleges and community groups to develop sustainable, relevant, and meaningful opportunities for all young people - including those who are marginalised - to become more active citizens.

Citizenship - it's about young people
