Aims

Section Summary

Section 1

Where do I belong?

To identify communities to which individuals belong and familiar communities within the group.

Pupils will:

  • take part in teacher-led discussion
  • identify, sort and match photographs and pictures
  • take part in a role-play
  • make visits around the school

Section 2

Making things easier

To understand sensory awareness and how some people overcome their disabilities with the help of other organisations.

Pupils will:

  • engage in sensory experiences
  • gain insight into the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Association/Guide Dogs for the Blind/Dogs for the Disabled
  • take part in a role-play
  • meet a dog and its handler who visit the school

What can I do?

To understand how we can help a community.

Pupils will:

  • actively help a chosen group
