Aims

Section Summary

Section 1

How we feel

To determine what issues are important within their school community.

To explore who should make the decisions that affect everyone in the school community.

Pupils will:

  • complete a questionnaire about school life. Staff will then collate information and report back to pupils

Section 2

Positive attributes

To consider the attributes and skills required of councillors.

Pupils will:

  • recognise various attributes and see why they are useful
  • participate in a formal discussion

Section 3

The election

To hold an election.

Some pupils will:

  • prepare manifestos
  • stand for election

All pupils will:

  • nominate and elect a School Council
